Hallo Funs,
On Friday I drove down
to the Sturm Family. We pact the rest of the things into the truck and
off we went. It was about an 3h trip. We arrived and were most impressed
with every thing. The track was AWESOME the pit area had electricity ect
ect.
Saturday:
I slept In hotel Hahn, Thanks Claus and Isar. We had Training at 11h40
which made the morning really relaxed. Hmmmmm The quite before the
storm. I was really looking forward to getting out on to the track. I
was in the second group (there were 85 riders.) My second lap into
practice I noticed something wasn’t right with my bike. I pulled into
the pit area and told Heinz to go and get my other bike. Heinz was gone
a while (he had to run more than 1 meter this weekend for me. ;-) Sorry
Heinz. In my Other bike was std. Suspension. (I had to drive up to
Hockenheim to get my second race bike from Jürgen on Thursday night
after the press meeting in Reutlingen. He drove down from Koblenz for me
Thanks Jürgen.) Put it this way it way a late night. We only had 1
training session so it was important to get as many laps on the track as
possible.
Time training:
I was on to the track
with my second bike and did a lap time of min 2:10,10. It wasn’t quite
what I was looking for. And it got me 9th place.
Sunday:
We woke up to rain. The rain had started at 4h00 and the track was
muddy. Our tent had broken because of the weight from the water. In
practice I went cruising around the track and was looking for some good
lines. It was still quite good to ride.
Moto 1:
I went down to the
start line ready for racing. I got the jump out the gate. It was as if I
was rocketed out. I went into the corner in second. Hemery was out front
and was pulling away. I was fighting for a clear view and let the gap
open to about 3 sec. Pichon came flying past me in an out of control way
and I was impressed that he stayed on. He had to take a different line
to the race line and it was. He was moving quickly and he caught and
passed Hemery a lap later. I let Phillipart passed too they weren’t part
of the championship. It was a good ride all I did was survive the race
and that got me 4th.
Second Moto:
In the second race I was ready
waiting for the gate to drop. It moved but didn’t go down. They had a
problem with it in the 85ccm race too. The 2 riders next 2 me hit it and
I did almost as well. I was pulling my bike back when it dropped. I was
last…. I started pulling through the field quickly but caught another
rider with my bars as he swerved out the way of fallen rider. I was off
the track and had to facing the wrong way. By the time I got going again
I was way back again. Then I had a hard coming together with no 59 (he
wasn’t very happy with me) but he was riding like a road block. It was a
stupid call and I went down too. He jumped up ready for round 1,
DINNNNGGGG. Sorry but I had the rest of the race on my mind. Oh well it
was my fault so I just let it go. I couldn’t pick up my bike because his
was lying on the back of it. I first threw his bike away and off I was
again. I was so cross with my self for how I was riding. I couldn’t get
into the ruth or the berm’s???? I had another get off over a step up and
stars came out…. I was 26th wooohhppiii Not very happy with life.
I decided to let the protest
go against Hemery in the first race. He had crashed in front of me and
when he got his bike going I was about to pass him. His bike was facing
up the track and he cut threw the tapes in front of me and charged off.
He admitted to me that it was wrong but hey, he and his team are good
people and they admitted a good result….
So what a day. It had every thing in it for me Gees. Oh well I’m not
hurt and can come back racing next weekend. Oh yes. A few people came to
me and said Markus Schiffer and I cut the track AND gained an advantage.
All I can say is I’m glad the TV coverage showed a very different
situation…. But it’s good to see they take me seriously as a title
contender =)
and they should…
Enough Politics I don’t ponder
in the past… This weekend …. MX 3 in Reutlingen.
Hope you are all coming.
Take care!
