Day 31:
We tried to sleep long but it
didn’t work. So we went down stairs and had breakfast got ready and off
we went. We first drove down to Kawasaki In Ervine. Kurt Rood met us and
took us in. We looked into the workshop and took a few picks… Speak to
you all soon
Day 30:
We woke up to a semi sunny
day. The ground look a bit wet but here things dryed up quickly. It's as
if the ground is a spounge. We went and had breakfast again with Tony
and Mike. Jow Oehlauf
was there with his father as well and Tony had some friends there who
has some tracks in Northen CA. Pitty we would have loved to go race
there.. Maybe next year, =)) Day 29:
We were up and went down
stairs for breakfast. Then we went back off to our good old training
track (that looks like the marine corps have been using for bomb
training). Just 2day it was dry and dusty. It was a really good training
session, after 30 min every one was empty… The track was a killer today. We took a break and had
something to eat. Then we went off to mikes secret track that his dad
had had a grader on there the whole morning. I filled my tank up to the
limit and off we went. Day 28 Sunday:
We were up at about 9h00 which
was a surprise. It was the latest since we have been here. We had
finished our bikes completely yesterday so we went and had a bit of a
lazy day. Day 27:
We met up with the Alessi for
Breakfast. Then we went with Mike and Jeff to bye some things for their
Ipods. After that Robby and I went to bye some things for my Bike. We
came back washed our bikes and put a new clutch into mine. Then we went
and got our self’s some food in a shopping mall just down the road. Day 26:
It was our day off. Tony
phoned and asked if I could help him pick up his Camper. So we went and
met for breakfast and off we went down to Corona to the KTM SX track and
picked up his Camper. While we were there I had a look at the other SX-Tracks
that are really close to each other The Suzuki Kawasaki, Honda and KTM
plus some private tracks also. Here are some pictures of them. There is
a picture of the person who builds all the tracks for every 1 up the ….
The so called Track Guru. Then the desert awaits us ….. Day 25: We met Mike and Tony for breakfast again. Then we drove down to Glenn Helen. The track was well prepared and I did 2 motos and some fast laps. There were a lot of people riding. We bummed in to Brett Metcalf who was out there 2. There were also a few MX-teachers out there doing schools. I have some pictures of the track and breakfast table … We came back had a shower and got us some food …It seams that all we do is Train, Sleep and Eat. Oh did I mention Eat ;o) Even though we are consuming a lot of food I’ve lost weight. It’s the training. The weather has warmed up again and its almost T-Shirt time again. Day 24: We were up pretty early this morning and off to breakfast with Mike, Jeff, Tony, Robby and I. Off we went back to the same track and did some riding. I was feeling the weeks riding and had a fun day out there just trying some different stuff. Then we went eating and took it easy for the rest of the day. We did our Washing. It was Robbys turn to wash the filters. … then it was bed and sleep. Take care all and speak to you 2morrow… Day 23:
Hello friends, Day 22
Hello friends. We allowed our
self’s to sleep a bit longer. We were a bit tired from the racing
yesterday. Then we went down and had a big breakfast and off we went. Day 21: Training was supposed to start at 8h00. The event was held at RACE TOWN and was sponsored by the UA-Army. We had 3 practises and 2 races. There was a young Rider there called Robert Memoli, who was riding real fast.
I was second off the gate and was fastest on the track but to get by I had to get aggressive. I didn’t want that not at a race like that. I followed him and watch his riding style. The Americans ride differently 2 the Europeans and it was interesting watching him. The are fast on flat corners but need to learn about the ruts. I was second by half a second….
I new I had to get off the
line quick. No 2nd place starts any more. I hole shotted and
pushed hard for the first 3 laps opening a gab of about 3 sec. I was
riding well and in a race situation I must say that I was getting used
to my 450. I was throwing it around corners. It was a good race and I
won. I’m Glad that it went well. I am feeling good on my bike. The two
25 minutes went well and I wasn’t tired at all. Day 20:
We were up pretty early. I
spent a lot of time on the net. We then went to Chaparral to get some
things for our bikes and we saw a factory mini bike. Day 19:
Today was our day off... We
were both pretty tired from riding this week and on Friday we did as
little as possible. We went into Hesperia and did some shopping. I
needed some things, then we went to a special shop where you pay 8 $ and
you can eat as much as you want. There is a Pizza area where you can
choose what you want. A paste area,a area with fries and potatoes and
of cause an area for dessert …. It was a mistake letting us in!!! We ate
our self’s into a coma. In fact we almost rolled out …. Day 18:
This morning we were up early
and off to meet Mike and Tony for breakfast. Then we drove down to Glen
Helen. The track this time was awesome to ride this morning. Compared to
what we have been riding it was really flat and fast. We had a ball... I
destroyed a back wheel.. oh, well I did three moto’s today and the track
was getting a bit rougher. Day 17:
This morning we met up with
Mike and Tony at Denny’s for breakfast. We had a huge breakfast
(actually way to much for the riding we were about to do). Take care all and speak to you 2morrow…
Day 16:
Day 15:
Day 14:
Day 13: Eventually I was in bed dreaming … Day 12:
Hallo, Hallo Fans! Day 11:
This morning we woke up a bit
later than normal. Every day its getting a bit harder to wake up because
of all the riding we are doing. It was down to Breakfast at Big Boy.
It’s a awesome place to eat. After we stuffed our stomach we were off to
the notorious Glen Helen race way. It wasn’t as we expected It was
pretty hard and dusty. In fact I can say it was the worst track we have
been to since we got here ???? I’m sure its perfect for the Nationals
but it wasn’t to day. My Hands are starting to hurt because of all the
riding we are doing. If I lived here I would have to make my suspension
a lot harder because of the jumps. They are a lot of fun and big. But
the tracks are built perfectly. They build them with experience, what
I’m trying to say is you know if u hit the jump in 4th gear
flat out you get over it. Day 10:
This Morning it
was difficult to get out of bed ;-) we went and had breakfast. Then we
were off to Silent Sport Kerry Bryant who received some Pipes for me to
test here. Thanks Kerry. After we collected our stuff we went down to
Langston Racing and I got a harder back shock spring for my bike and
put it on. We were off to Perris Raceway. It was open until 21h00 … That
was strange because here its only light until 18h00. We did quite a lot
of riding then it was twilight and the lights went on J it was a
floodlight track… After we were finished we drove home
(holiday Inn)
just across the road there is a really good food shop and we stopped in
for a bite to eat. Day 9: This morning we woke up and rushed down to big boy and had a huge breakfast. We went out to a track just down the road called Competitive edge . It has 3 big tracks . A very good SX track and two MX tracks that are awesome to ride. We spoke to Tony Alessi (Jeff’s and Mikes dad) and they were going to train there. Every body was there. Mike Alessi (who was 3rd last week and getting stronger every weekend), Grant Langston (fresh off his win last weekend in Anaheim), Brett Metcalf 5th last week, Saun Hamblin, ect ect. Normally the MX tracks were closed. The one track was been used by Suzuki Test division and was closed, But the other one had been raced on and they said it was destroyed and they didn’t think that we would want to ride on it. We are here to train and we were extremely happy to go and train on it. It was pretty destroyed but we had a really good day. I have a picture of it (and of my slave making it wet ok while I oiled his new filters). We got back and were about to go and get some food when Tony walked in and asked if we wanted to go and get some thing to eat with them. We went out to a Steak house and it was a fun meal. Jeff and Mike are 2 completely different people, very fast, but different personalities. We drove to a shopping center and we bought some things we needed Like a 32 spanner for the wheels .. Day 8:
Today we got up and went off
to Oakley... It took forever because there was a huge raging fire.So
we got to Oakley 1h30 min later. We were met by mike and he took us up
to Pat and there it was. My Package full of nice things Then Robby
went down and he could bye some things there for an extremely good
Price .-) Any way after about 1 hour we both walked out smiling.
Thanks Pat! Next stop was Kawasaki. I needed some spare parts and Kurt
met us at the door with them. Thanks Kurt! Then we drove down past
Newport beach just to have a look. Here are some Pictures of Oakley
(is the most amazing building. It has a full blown Basketball court.
An amphitheatre ect ect) If u ever have the possibility its worth
going there. Newport beach ect It took us forever to get back. But hey
home sweet home (Holiday in Express) The best part is that were we are
staying its 1300 meters above sea level… Day 7: We tried to sleep late but that still doesn’t work although we got to 8h30.... We hang about and surfed on the Internet. We then went and had Brunch. After lunch We went To another track just down the road and that was also a very nice surprise The tracks here are all amazing. We rode until we were just dead tired. Robby went for a ride on my 450 and was going real fast ... Go Robby. Every day we have on our bikes helps a lot. On the way back to our Hotel we stopped at a Supermarket and bought some food. Ist dificult here finding Healthy Food ... Gees oh yes and did I mention try and find just normal Milk... Oh well. We came back ,cooked, ate showered. It about time to go go to bed. Tomorrow we have a tour of the Oakley facility and we are really looking forward to it. Day 6:
We woke up and had a huge
Breakfast :-) Then we bought some water and went off to a track called
Competitive Edge. Ist just 10 min from our Hotel. It was a lot of fun
... Perfect conditions. The track never had any dust it was amazing. We
met Chris Mökli from Austria. We did a lot riding and it was awesome.
Then we rushed home and showered got ready and off we went to Anaheim 3.
We were all worked up. This was going to be an experience you don’t have
very often. We got there parked and walked the 600 meters to the
stadium. While we were walking along the fence we saw Mike Fischer at
the Kawasaki Truck and he gave us two tickets to get in Thanks Mike. We
waked into the pits and there were huge trucks and Vans parked every
where. The first person I bumped into was Mike Healy who I haven’t seen
for along time. Then I saw Ian Harrison R+D at suzuki USA who I hadn’t
seen for years..... Then I bumbed into Tom Carson And Mike Beier who
used to race indoor-cross in Germany. Then it was Greg Albertyn and and
and.. De Reuver, Gorden Crockert oh man it was awesome. We had good
seating and The atmosphere was just crazy. I had Goose Bumps . It was
the first time I had seen James Bubba Ride. That was an interesting
experience. The top 3 riders are extremly fast. Wow... The 125 class was
a good race but Grant dominated goooo Grant. Mike Alessi had a very good
ride too, 3rd place and Brett was 5th. I do like his riding style. Hi! Today we left 4 the USA. I woke up feeling pretty nervous.. It was difficult saying good by to Jeremy and Vanessa over the phone !!!! I picked Robbie up at the Hauptbahnhof Train station and we drove to the airport with our 1000000 bags of luggage :-) I had my Suspension from Hubi (HH-RaceTech) with me. We were nearly the first people to check in and we got pretty good seats. The only thing was the plane was 2 hours delayed so we had some lunch and walked around a bit. Did some shopping and bought some things for our Ipods :o) Eventually we were able to board. We were flying across with air India. The plane was a 747. It was old and abused gees.Oh well. The service was good and so was the food. Day 5:
To day we went across the road
for Breakfast. It's awesome. As much as you can eat for 5€ and believe
me it a big variety of things from pancake fruit eggs oh yyummmy. Then
we went to Chaparral again to see if we could Pick up Robby's bike. It
took a long time but we went out with Robby’s bike :-) I think Todd was
happy to see us go ;-) Just kidding Todd and thanks again. We drove down
to Langston Racing where my Friend Colin Hinks is working. It was about
1 hour South from Chaparral. It was good seeing him again. It’s been a
while but he hasn’t changed. We were able to put my Suspension in and
just 3 min away was a huge MX Park Lake Ellsinore it was so much fun to
ride again. The track was like a huge out door SX-Track full of timing
sections and huge jumps... Just the way I like it ;-))))) I did what I
thought was a lot of riding but looking into my tank there was still a
lot in. They have the bike jetted for 87 Octane fuel so the bike hardly
uses any. It was a really good day. Being back on the bike was really
good... Had some food and 2 happy boys drove home. Day 4: I was up at about 5hoo, then I lay around and hardly slept to 7hoo. We then proceeded down to Chaparral shop to bye Robby's bike but after some time we could only get the bike tomorrow due to American express but that’s ok. Todd helped us a lot and here thanks for his patience. We then went to Glenn Helen to ride but the were closed after 13h00 so we only phoned up Oakley and made an appointment. We then proceeded down to Oakley. It was awesome... Pat helped us out a lot and we walked out very impressed (and with a really cool package) And that was nearly our day.. Oh yes with grid lock it took us 1h20 min back gees.... Day 3: To day we got up about 7h00 Had a breakfast down stairs and were ready for the day. We went to go and get a Telephone card but it as nearly 50 min away in a big Shopping area. We spent some time walking around and looking into the shops. We had lunch there then drove back home. I bought a FM sender for my IPOD which means I can set the gadget to a fm frequency and it playes over the radio. We then went training down stair where I stepped for more than a minute . We r getting used to the time difference. And then we went and had supper. I had a Spare Ribbs and steak combo yyyuummyyy. Then bed.... Day 2: We got to the Airport at 18h30. It was a long flight but ok. Robby and I rented a car and we were off to Apple Valley. We had a huge breakfast in the morning and we were both full. We wanted to bye some stuff but all the shops were closed at time in the morning. Next we went off to the SX track about 10 min from where we are staying. It was amazing to see what awaited us when we got there ... It was an awesome MX track...Out Doors an a extremely good SX-Track. I met a lot of friends there.Grant Langston , Brett Metcalf, Mike Brown and Mike Alessi Came out too. It was fun watching them all ride. The had some qualification races too. Tony Alessi gave us the keys of a car / van they had and Robby and I were off to Kawasaki USA. It was awesome walking around in the place :-) bubba`s bikes it was really good. Here I would like to take the time to Thank Mike Fischer for all there help !!! On the way back we went to Pro Circuit and Chaparral Shop. It was amazing how big Chaparral was !!!!! Mind blowing.. Then we past a electro-shop and I bought some stuff for my IPOD and an Adaptor for a plug. I’m in the hotel and I’m drop dead tired.. |
